Our Mother of Confidence Church

Being that Pearl and I are both architecture dorks, it was very important to us that we be married in a church that we were comfortable with. This meant the building had to be either architecturally significant, or at least put forward a compelling design statement. We went through an exhaustive search online and visited quite a few locations before finding one that was both close to the reception, and met our aesthetic criteria.

Our Mother of Confidence underwent a significant remodel a few years ago, transforming it from a 70s empty box to a contemporary space of inspiration and worship. The unpretentious, asymmetrical design, coupled with the original huge stained glass windows, creates a light welcoming atmosphere that challenges the notion of stereotypically dark Catholic churches full of artificial references to Gothic or Romanesque cathedrals.

We truly hope our guests will leave the church as inspired as we are.
